Liz Soderberg is a Senior Director in Lateral Link’s San Francisco office, where she focuses on the placement of associates, counsel, and partners at law firms and companies primarily throughout California. With a career built entirely within the legal industry, first as a practicing attorney, then as a recruiter at some of the most respected firms in the country, Liz brings a level of authenticity and market fluency to her work that candidates and clients alike find immediately apparent.

After earning her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law, Liz began her legal career in mass tort litigation, an experience that gave her firsthand insight into the demands and pressures of legal practice. That foundation proved invaluable when she transitioned into recruiting, equipping her with the ability to evaluate candidates not just on paper, but with a genuine understanding of what it means to practice law at a high level.

Liz launched her recruiting career at Townsend, a highly regarded IP boutique that would eventually merge to become Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton. There she developed her foundational expertise in legal placements and built early relationships within the California legal community that continue to serve her candidates and clients today. From there, she joined Kirkland & Ellis, one of the most elite and sought-after firms in the world, where she managed recruiting efforts for their Northern California offices for nearly a decade. In that role, Liz developed an exceptionally sophisticated understanding of what top-tier firms look for in lateral talent, how hiring decisions are made at the highest levels, and what it takes to successfully shepherd a placement from initial conversation to offer acceptance and beyond.

That institutional knowledge now works directly in favor of the attorneys and organizations she serves at Lateral Link. Whether she is guiding a mid-level associate through their first lateral move, helping a seasoned partner evaluate a strategic transition, or assisting a company in building out its legal team, Liz approaches every engagement with the same combination of market expertise, personal investment, and practical counsel.

A lifelong Bay Area resident, Liz has deep roots in the community she serves, both professionally and personally. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two kids, and two rescue pups.
