Bio

Mimi is a Director based in the Bay Area of California who specializes in placing associates at leading law firms across the state. With a track record of building high-performing teams and communities, Mimi transitioned into legal recruiting to help attorneys find firms where they can truly thrive. Mimi’s recruiting philosophy centers around taking the time to truly understand her client’s and candidate’s needs, and connecting both to the best possible matches. Having made important career pivots herself, she understands how working with a trusted team who understands the always shifting landscape, can make a big difference. Most recently, Mimi was the Legal Talent Manager at Glaser Weil, an elite boutique in Los Angeles. While there, she oversaw attorney recruiting and professional development initiatives, including hiring, onboarding, integration, and engagement programs. She partnered with firm leadership to attract top legal talent, foster attorney success, and strengthen long-term retention through innovative talent strategies.

Mimi co-founded, led, and exited two mission driven companies: Freekibble and Free the Ocean. Free the Ocean is a sustainable e-commerce company focused on ocean conservation and conscious consumerism. She built Free the Ocean from the ground up, growing the platform to 250,000+ community members and selling 400,000+ products. Over 4 years, FTO grew its year-over-year revenue by an average of 44%. She oversaw team operations, onboarding, and internal communication to ensure alignment and retention, building partnerships with global nonprofits, vendors, and collaborators to drive social impact and growth. She led correspondence with customers and community, managed daily operations, and created systems for efficiency and scale – resulting in 1.3 million unique site and online store visitors. Mimi played a key role in business development, negotiation, and brand strategy leading to successful acquisition in 2024.

At Freekibble, Mimi launched one of the first social enterprise platforms to help shelter animals, resulting in over 30 million meals donated and awarded $4 million in grants to animal welfare organizations. She helped develop partnerships and represented the brand nationally. Mimi built a loyal community through innovative campaigns, media appearances (Ellen, Oprah, Today Show), and nonprofit collaborations. She was honored with national awards recognizing leadership, impact, and communication.

These entrepreneurial ventures taught Mimi what it takes to build trust, retain talent, and grow something meaningful from the ground up — lessons she now applies daily in helping attorneys navigate pivotal career moves. Her experiences in entrepreneurship over the course of 12 years, led her to develop hard earned skills in relationship building and communication, business development and negotiation, project management and operations, onboarding, engagement, and retention strategies, written and verbal correspondence, creative problem-solving, sales and partnership development, organization and follow-up systems. Mimi brings these skills, along with her passion for conversation, connection, and helping others, to her work with attorneys as she helps find them the right home.

Mimi graduated from the University of Oregon in 2019 with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. (Go Ducks)! Outside of work, Mimi loves exploring the hiking trails and coastlines around Marin County, volunteering at local farms, reading books in the sun, growing food in her greenhouse, and spending time with family and friends in her beautiful home. Whether she’s matching a candidate with their next firm or a firm with their next great hire, Mimi’s goal is always the same: create a fit that lasts.
