Niko Olsrud McIver is a Senior Director at Lateral Link where she advises attorneys and employers on strategic legal recruiting matters in the Seattle, California, Texas, and New York markets, while also leading select national searches for law firms, Fortune 500 companies, and emerging growth companies.

Niko has extensive experience leading both retained and contingent searches ranging from associate and partner placements to highly confidential General Counsel and senior legal leadership roles. Her practice spans a broad range of industries, including technology, artificial intelligence, finance, life sciences, and renewable energy. She regularly partners with Am Law firms, boutiques, public companies, and startups to build high-performing legal teams across corporate, finance, litigation, intellectual property, employment, privacy, regulatory, and executive leadership functions.

Prior to joining Lateral Link, Niko served as the Legal Recruiting Manager for the Seattle office of Perkins Coie. She also held senior legal recruiting roles at Tesla and Meta, where she focused on building and scaling legal teams in fast-paced and highly competitive environments. Her combined experience in both BigLaw and in-house recruiting gives her a nuanced understanding of the legal market and allows her to provide strategic, market-driven guidance to both candidates and clients.

Niko earned her J.D. from Seattle University and her B.A. from University of Washington. Before transitioning into recruiting, she began her legal career as a patent paralegal before moving into attorney roles, providing her with firsthand insight into the practice of law and the evolving needs of legal employers.

Outside of work, Niko enjoys spending time with her family, baking elaborate desserts, watching K-dramas, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with her Pomeranian.
