Wendy Boone Jaikaran is a Senior Principal based in Lateral Link’s Houston office, where she leads partner, counsel, and associate placements, oversees client relationships throughout the Texas market, and manages the Lateral Link Texas recruitment team. With more than 15 years of legal recruiting experience, Wendy works closely with leading AmLaw firms, high end boutiques, and in-house legal departments on strategic lateral hiring, while advising attorneys on career moves that align with their long term professional goals.
Widely known for her market intelligence and deep understanding of the Texas legal landscape, Wendy approaches recruiting as both a strategic and highly personal endeavor. She takes great pride in developing meaningful, long standing relationships with her candidates, investing the time to understand not only their practices and credentials, but also their personalities, priorities, and long term aspirations. Wendy believes that successful recruiting is built on trust and is deeply committed to ensuring that each placement is the right fit for both the attorney and the firm over the long term.
Nothing is more rewarding to Wendy than placing associates early in their careers and, years later, watching them grow, succeed, and ultimately be promoted to partner. For her, recruiting is not simply about making a placement. It is about helping attorneys build lasting careers while helping firms grow thoughtfully and strategically.
Before joining Lateral Link, Wendy was a Senior Partner at a national legal recruiting firm. Earlier in her career, she practiced for seven years as an intellectual property litigation associate at a highly respected Houston based IP boutique. This experience gives her a unique, firsthand perspective on law firm culture, sophisticated litigation practices, and the realities attorneys face in their day to day work.
Wendy views recruiting as a puzzle, constantly thinking about which attorneys, partners, and practices will best complement and strengthen particular firms. She enjoys the challenge of evaluating team dynamics, identifying growth opportunities, and thinking creatively about long term fit. Over the years, many of the firm recruiters and candidates she works with have become close friends, a testament to her relationship driven approach and genuine investment in the people she advises.
Outside of work, Wendy enjoys spending time with her husband, René, and their two children, Madison and Parker. She loves cooking, coaching t ball, being a dance mom, and every fall good naturedly debating which college football game deserves the TV, the Texas Longhorns or the Texas A&M Aggies.
