Evan Jowers, a Principal operating from Hong Kong and Miami, spearheads our Asia office. His primary focus is facilitating the transition of attorneys into, out of, and within the Asian market. With a career in attorney recruiting spanning since 2003, Evan has played a significant role in over 500 US attorney placements in major law firms and various in-house roles throughout Asia since 2006. His expertise spans across multiple locations including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, London, Dubai, Moscow, Sydney, and numerous US markets.

Evan earned his law degree from Boston University School of Law, completed part of his law degree at Oxford, and holds a BA in Russian from the University of Florida. Before transitioning to recruitment, Evan served as an associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft in New York and later as general counsel for an international garment manufacturing company based in Miami, with operations in Russia and Ukraine.

Evan is recognized for his expertise in placing partners at their current law firms at numerous top US and UK firms in Asia, including, for example, eight current partners at Latham. He has also made placements in various firms such as Cleary, Simpson Thacher, Ropes & Gray, Gibson Dunn, Kirkland & Ellis, Cooley, Linklaters, Allen Overy, DLA Piper, Gunderson, Weil Gotshal, White & Case, and Baker McKenzie, among others.

Evan is committed to staying current with global legal trends. His insights into the Asian legal industry have been sought after by major media outlets like the New York Times, Legal Week, American Lawyer, and CNBC. He also initiated and funded the Asia Chronicles series blog, which was featured prominently on Abovethelaw.com from 2008 to 2015.

Outside of his recruitment work, Evan actively contributes to academia, often advising law students at Harvard Law School and other institutions on Asia-based careers. Born in Singapore and raised in New Orleans, Evan, a former Russian Linguist in the US Marines, demonstrates a diverse background and commitment. He is on the advisory board for the Ed Reed Foundation, serving and advocating for at-risk youth, and is a Bull Gator booster for the Florida Gators football program.
